Week 3: Saying YES to Transformation.
Last week, we tried to look for and be attentive to the messengers in our midst: those people tasked with making crooked paths straight and shining a light on the places in our world that need to be prepared for the arrival of the kingdom of God. We pondered what surprising gifts or discoveries we were being offered, and practiced saying YES to those gifts.
This week, our Advent path asks us to join God in a journey. Birth is just a beginning: saying YES to God requires us to move- sometimes in unexpected ways. Our prayers ask for God to come among us and make us strong enough to join the work of transforming this world. We are saying YES to unexpected gifts in our lives, so the next step is to say YES to the transformation that those gifts may bring.
Spend time this week with the resources offered and listen for opportunities to fulfill John's cry to share with-- care for-- feed-- and love strangers and those who have need in this world. The birth is just the beginning. How are YOU being called as an essential part of transforming our world into God's kingdom?
