Week 2- Saying YES to a surprising gift.
One theme of the Advent season is that the path we travel is not a straight line: rather, it is quite circuitous. Just when we think that we have passed from one season to the next we discover that we have indeed returned to where we began. This week, we hear about different messengers that God sends ahead of Jesus to prepare the way for the kingdom, and the surprising gifts that God offers.
None of us is ever qualified to live out the gift that we are offered, but that is not the point. It is not our call to be 100% qualified-- our call is to be paying attention and to say YES to the surprising gifts and discoveries in our lives.
This week, spend time with the resources offered and listen for the "voice of one crying out in the wilderness". Where is the wilderness in your world? What are the voices crying out to be heard? Are you being called as a messenger to others in this time?
God is calling. Trust that God has picked YOU, as unqualified as you may feel.
