Week 1: YES, I will Show Up.
This week, we consider themes of impatience and the desire to have immediate gratification. How do we manage our impatience while waiting? How do we teach children to be more patient, when it is so hard for us to be patient humans ourselves?
We are living in the world of "in between"-- the life lived between submitting a college application and hearing back from that school-- times of waiting for test results to be returned-- of paying attention to the slow process of our parents aging-- the joy and uncertainty of holding a sonogram in your hand. We are constantly moving from moment to moment, and much of our time is spent navigating the uncertainty, anticipation and (oftentimes) anxiety of standing "in between".
It's here, but it's not here.
We are anticipating something that is still unknown. We know something is coming, but we do not yet know what it will look, feel or be like in our world and in our lives.
This week, spend time with the resources below and practice standing fully in these "in between" moments. Without pushing for answers, solutions or completion-- practice this week living fully in anticipation. Be on guard. Something is blooming.
